NASHUA, N.H. — Granite Staters who picked up this weekend’s Union Leader got a closer look at the resume Opioid Lobbyist Cinde Warmington doesn’t want them to see. A full-page ad from the Ayotte campaign laid out Warmington’s decades-long career putting the interests of opioid companies, pill mills, and herself ahead of New Hampshire families.
“The resume that Opioid Lobbyist Warmington doesn’t want you to see includes highlighting her time being paid to lie on behalf of Purdue Pharma and representing a notorious pill mill,” said Ayotte campaign spokesman John Corbett. “Over the past two decades, Warmington repeatedly put her own self-interest ahead of New Hampshire, and we’ll continue to highlight her disqualifying record.”
The resume highlights some of Warmington’s work lobbying for the opioid industry, including lying for Purdue Pharma, where she opposed safeguards on OxyContin before the Legislature and testified that it was a “miracle drug” with “very few side effects.” It also details her work as the registered agent for entities tied to notorious pill mill owner Michael O’Connell, her efforts to help defeat legislation that would have prevented physicians with revoked medical licenses from owning healthcare facilities, and the political donations she later received from O’Connell. The advertisement also includes quotes from recovery advocates, law enforcement, firefighters, and local leaders describing Warmington’s record as disqualifying and emblematic of a career spent putting special interests ahead of Granite Staters.
