Ayotte highlights successful new law that gets cell phones out of the classroom
NASHUA, N.H. — In a new television ad, Governor Kelly Ayotte highlights New Hampshire’s successful bell-to-bell cell phone ban.
In a survey conducted by the New Hampshire Department of Education, teachers and school leaders report that students are more focused, less distracted, and building stronger connections with each other:
- 65% of teachers surveyed say students are talking with more peers during lunch or breaks
- 75% say students seem more focused in class
- 54% say class disruptions have declined
“Thanks to our efforts to get cell phones out of the classroom, kids can be kids again, and teachers are able to focus on teaching,” said Governor Ayotte. “Disconnecting helped our children reconnect, and our schools are better for it. We’ll keep working to make New Hampshire an even better place to learn.”
The ad will run statewide on broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms.
