New Hampshire Home Builders Association Endorses Governor Ayotte

NASHUA, N.H. —  Last week, the New Hampshire Home Builders Association formally announced its endorsement of Governor Kelly Ayotte for re-election.

Governor Ayotte has led the charge on housing, and New Hampshire has made historic progress in her first term. Production hit a 20-year high this year, and it was recently reported that permits for new housing continue to increase in Southern New Hampshire.

“Governor Kelly Ayotte has been a steadfast champion for expanding housing in New Hampshire,” said Eric Jackson, President of the NHHBA and Director of Acquisitions & Development at The Stabile Companies. “Since day one, she has cut red tape, removed unnecessary barriers to building, and delivered on her promise to make housing a top priority, including expanding accessory dwelling units to create more affordable and generational living options. We are proud to support Governor Ayotte for re-election, and we look forward to building on the progress we’ve made together.”

“Housing is the most important economic issue our state faces, and the New Hampshire Home Builders Association played a critical role in our bipartisan effort to pass a dozen new laws to make it easier to build, speed up housing construction, and expand opportunities for families, seniors, and our young people to find an affordable place to live,” said Governor Ayotte. “I’m proud to have the Home Builders Association’s support, and I will continue working to tackle our housing challenges and make New Hampshire an even better place to live.”

Bipartisan laws Governor Ayotte has signed to tackle the housing crisis include:

  • Expanded opportunities for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and converting empty offices into residential housing.
  • Streamlined the State permitting process to reduce barriers to housing development.
  • Standardized building codes to remove unnecessary red tape at the local level.
  • Created a new financing mechanism for energy-efficient housing.
